Kevin Kamps will make a presentation, answer questions, and lead a discussion on nuclear waste management and dry cask storage at VT Yankee. 7:00pm, Parlor, Centre Congregational Church, Main Street, Brattleboro. Few topics are more timely for VT Yankee decommissioning than what to do with the radioactive waste. Kevin serves as Radioactive Waste Watchdog at Beyond Nuclear. He specializes in high-level rad. waste management and transportation; fighting extensions at old, and licenses for new, reactors in the Great Lakes region, where he serves on the board of Don’t Waste MI; decommissioning issues; Federal watch; and tracking nuclear subsidies. Kevin testified before the Vermont legislature. He has already driven from Maryland to Vermont twice this year, to celebrate the closing on January 3rd and spoke to the NRC at the public meeting on February 19th. This past March 11 he was Thom Hartmann’s guest talking about Fukushima. In this 01.21.15 podcast, Kevin and Arnie give a post-mortem on Yankee.
