¶ “Holtec Confirms Pilgrim Worker Was Contaminated” • An incident that exposed a worker at the shuttered Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station to airborne radioactive contamination has been confirmed by the spokesman for Holtec International, Patrick O’Brien. ¶ “Climate Change Stoked US, Mexico Heatwave, A Report Says” • Human-induced climate change made recent extreme heat in the US southwest, Mexico and Central America around 35 times more likely, scientists say. The World Weather Attribution group studied excess heat between May and early June, when the US heatwave was mainly in the Southwest. [BBC]

¶ “US Energy Storage Market Soars 84% In Q1” • The US energy storage market set a first-quarter record for capacity installed in Q1 2024, with 1,265 MW deployed across all segments, according to a report from Wood Mackenzie and ACP.
