¶ “Dutton Kicks His Own Nuclear Policy Can Down The Road, Amid Reports Of Split In Coalition” • Coalition leader Peter Dutton delayed the release of a proposed nuclear power policy, ostensibly because of the Sydney stabbing events and the release of the government’s defence policy. ¶ “Europe Is The Fastest-Warming Continent, At Nearly Twice The Average Global Rate” • Europe is the fastest-warming continent and its temperatures are rising at roughly twice the global average, two top organizations monitoring the climate said in a report. ¶ “Europe’s First Commercial-Scale Floating Offshore Wind Farm Secures All Planning Approvals” • With onshore consent, Green Volt has all its planning approvals and remains on track to be Europe’s first floating offshore wind farm. ¶ “Largest Floating Solar Array In Australia Switched On” • The 350-kW system at Gippsland Water has 644 solar panels and floats on a treatment lagoon at the Drouin wastewater treatment plant. Gippsland Water said it is the largest floating solar array in Australia, and the solar panels result from the its commitment to renewable energy. [Energy Magazine]
